The Race…

The Duck Turkey Trot 5K is an annual charitable run/walk to be held on Thursday November 27, 2025.  This event is
produced by the First Flight Track Club, a local 501 C-3 nonprofit which helps youth runners in Dare County.

The race is open to runners and walkers of all abilities and continues the tradition established by the Advice 5K Turkey Trot. Many vacationers and locals remember this race fondly before its retirement in 2021. The Duck community is very excited about the rumors of the return of the race, and local businesses are excited for the reboot.

This event is for vacationers, homeowners, and locals to celebrate the Thanksgiving Day holiday together. Event reception and after event celebration will be held at TREE HOUSE CAFE and COFFEE Scarborough Faire Shopping Village.

This race is not chip timed. Top finishers will be posted, but all times will not be posted.  There will be a race clock with the time displayed.  No Pets Please.

The Fun…

Included with each registration:  Tee Shirt, Swag bag, Hot Drink Ticket (Coffee/Hot Chocolate), SWELLS'A Beer Ticket for over 21, post race carbs, Great Course with aid stations, Great Party @ Tree House Cafe and Coffee, Charity Auction and Raffles.

The fun starts Wednesday night at Packet Pickup at Swells'a Brewing Duck Dive Bar.

Prizes (Pies from Sweaterbox Confections!) will be awarded to first male and first female finishers.  Prizes will also be awarded randomly to racers.

The Course…

Starting on Christopher Drive adjacent to Scarborough Faire in downtown Duck, your travel towards the Atlantic and then turn south on Ocean Way. Then you’ll head back towards the sound on Scarborough Ln until you get to NC12. The course then heads north along NC12 to Schooner Ridge Drive across from the Global Methodist Church. You’ll then complete the loop on Schooner Ridge Drive and then traverse Chip Court before heading south again out of the Schooner Ridge subdivision on NC12. The finish line is near the start line on Christopher Drive adjacent to Scarborough Faire.
